The Kennebec Café and Bakery - A Taste of Tuscany Nestled in the La Plata Mountains

Chef-owners Barbara and Miguel invite you to dine in an atmosphere of casual elegance, gracious hospitality and warm comfortable surroundings. With gorgeous mountain scenery as the backdrop, your meal at The Kennebec Café and Bakery is a special dining experience.  The restaurant is only a 10 minute drive from Durango, yet, upon entering, you are immediately transported to an intimate European café.

True to the European café flavor, the owners are “hands-on” and available for their guests.  Customers are always welcomed in the evening by Barbara; while she spends her days baking her signature desserts. Miguel, the warm and caring Chef, shows his love for food through the flavorful dishes he creates every night.  Miguel is self-taught and rejoices in sharing his brand of home style cooking.

The ambitious and hospitable staff, many of whom have been with Barb and Miguel since the restaurant opened, reflect the friendly atmosphere of The Kennebec Cafe.
